We've adapted our favorite gingerbread recipe into a beer perfect for those "Winter Storm Warning" nights. Medium-bodied and slightly malty, this spiced beer features candied ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and a cinnamon stick to ensure your fridge will be merry and drunk. Available by the kit or the mix.

We love the vanilla and char notes bourbon gets from aging in oak barrels, but we don't exactly have room to store one in our kitchen. To mimic that effect on the stove-top we soak oak chips in bourbon overnight - then add them to the boil. The result: a 7% ABV light caramel Belgian dubbel with a bourbon kick. Hump-day is upon us and American Craft Beer Week is picking up steam. Hopefully you haven't gotten your fill of great domestic beers, because the events just keep on coming.

Tonight: Ever wonder what kind of beer the founding fathers were drinking? Well, the folks at Shmaltz Brewing Co. certainly did, and they've recreated George Washington's recipe with a hint of modernization. Head to Rattle 'n Hum at 7pm for a taste of history and a few other Shmaltz special brews.

It's that time of year again... Craft beer bars all over the country will be hosting special events to promote an American industry that's easy to support. All week long we'll be recommending craft beer events in NYC so grab an American flag and put on your drinking hat.

We recently hosted a lecture on Small Batch Countertop Brewing at The American Museum of Natural History for its Adventures in the Global Kitchen series where we sampled four different single-hop IPAs we brewed up just for the occasion.

Spring is here, and to celebrate, we threw a fun food & beer tasting event at our loft in Downtown Brooklyn last Thursday. On tap were our new spring beers, and paired with each was a specially made treat from some of our favorite local food producers.

We paired shortbread with dollops of chai butter cream from The Good Batch with Tea & Toast, a light-bodied ale steeped with tea. A creamy cheddar dip spiked with beer from Kor d'Oeuvres with Grapefruit Honey Ale, a citrusy pale ale with dried grapefruit peel. Jellies and caramels from Liddabit Sweets with Rose Cheeked & Blonde, a Belgian blond brewed with rose hips and rose buds. And our Lady Lavender paired with a salted caramel ice cream from Milkmade Ice Cream.
