Whether you like to drink beer made close to home, or want to try something from around the globe, there are plenty of festivals this weekend to satisfy any craving. Raleigh and Hong Kong's international festivals will bring together beer from around the world, while Boston and Johnson City's events will put more of a focus on locally brewed offerings. Beer Events - April 4, 2013

This weekend, as the weather continues to warm up and Spring really kicks into high gear, there are plenty of great beer festivals all around the country, and each with their own unique twist. From a barrel-aged beer festival on the West Coast, to a celebration of music and beer on the East Coat, to a Hobbit-inspired festival across the pond, this will be a great weekend of beer and fun.

  • Weekend Beer Events 3/30

    Beer Events - March 28, 2013

If you want to learn more about craft beers, this might be your weekend. While simply tasting new beers is always an easy (and fun!) way to soak up knowledge, several of the events this weekend include a roster of seminars that are sure to teach you a thing or two about your favorite craft beer. Plus, this weekend, the judging for Asia's best craft beer will take place in Tokyo as part of the region's larger annual craft beer festival, with events throughout the year.

  • Weekend Beer Events 3/23

    Beer Events - March 21, 2013

Spring has sprung! As the weather warms up (hopefully!) and you brace yourself for April showers in hopes of May flowers, there are plenty of exciting beer festivals around the country ... and the world. Whether you're looking for very traditional ales, new and exciting brews, or something a bit sportier, there's something for everybody this weekend.

  • Slideshow: Valentine's Beer Making Class

    Beer Events - March 18, 2013

This Valentine's Day we decided to do something a little different. We traded in the heart-shaped box of candy for a night filled with beer. We invited couples and singles to attend a fun and informative Beer Making Class held in DUMBO. After class, everyone enjoyed a few cups of Chocolate Maple Porter, Chestnut Brown Ale and Smoked Wheat along with cheese pairings and sinfully delicious Chocolate Maple Porter Truffles. Enjoy the slideshow!

  • Weekend Beer Events 3/16

    Beer Events - March 14, 2013

May the luck of the Irish be with you this weekend! There's certainly no shortage of ways to celebrate St. Patrick's Day on Sunday (and before), so skip the green beer and get in touch with your Irish roots at Boston's Beer Week or Austin's St. Patrick's Day Festival.

  • Weekend Beer Events 3/9

    Beer Events - March 7, 2013

Beer, beer, beer. We've got plenty of it this weekend. Whether you are looking to plant yourself at a beer festival or be bussed to your favorite bars, we've got something for you. We've even got a Belgian beer bracket for all you hoop (or hop) heads out there.

  • Weekend Beer Events 3/2

    Beer Events - February 28, 2013

From the East Coast to the West Coast, there are tons of opportunities to drink some great beer this weekend. Sip on some suds at the Gilmore Car Museum in Michigan, get your fill of BBQ, beer and bourbon in Atlanta, and have some brews at the zoo in California.

  • NYC Beer Week

    Beer Events - February 25, 2013

NYC Craft Beer Week is upon us! There are hundreds of happenings all over the city throughout the week, so finding a bar to celebrate New York City's fantastic beer scene shouldn't be too difficult. The extensive list of events can be a little overwhelming, we've gone through and selected our top pick for each night.

  • Weekend Beer Events 2/23

    Beer Events - February 21, 2013

If you can think of something better than a beer fest, chances are we can probably find a way to disprove you. So dive right into this weekend's picks for beer events across the nation. You'll have the opportunity to savor dark beers and play video games in Illinois, kick off NYC Beer Week in DUMBO, and imbibe in a 19th-century mansion in Philadelphia.

  • Weekend Beer Events 2/16

    Beer Events - February 14, 2013

Beer events this weekend seem to fall into two categories: Strong beers and beer weeks (not to be confused with weak beers.) Omaha and Phoenix are both playing host to beer weeks filled with some fantastic events. Phoenix is staring its beer week off with a bang, serving up tons of high alcohol beers. You can also get your hands on more than a few beers that exceed 10% ABV in Tacoma on Saturday.

If regular ol' beer fests are more your speed, we'll see you in an old armory in either Rochester, NY or Morristown, NJ. Because drinking unlimited beer in a castle trumps pretty much anything else you are considering this weekend.

  • Weekend Beer Events 2/9

    Beer Events - February 7, 2013

Beer events this weekend range from the extreme in Boston to the decadent in Missouri. In California, San Francisco kicks off a beer week and Carlsbad raises money for a good cause. No matter where you are this weekend, there are plenty of places to experience great times and great beers!

If you are still looking for a (somewhat) last minute Valentine's Day gift, we are hosting a Valentine's Beer Making Class in DUMBO on Tuesday. We'll teach you all about how to make some beer and then you can take your Everyday IPA Beer Making Kit home and try out what you learned in your own kitchen!

  • Weekend Beer Events 2/2

    Beer Events - January 31, 2013

From a beer-filled train ride through scenic Colorado to a craft beer-inspired art show in California, we've got a beer event for all tastes this weekend. There is even an opportunity to drink in an old armory in upstate New York.

And don't worry, we won't forget to celebrate the holiday that inspired one of the best Bill Murray movies of all time. Grey Lodge honors Punxsutawney Phil in a pretty untraditional manner - with a beer breakfast and a Hawaiian shirt contest.

  • Weekend Beer Events 2/1

    Beer Events - January 30, 2013

There's obviously one major beer event going on this weekend -- the Superbowl. So if you were planning on doing more this weekend than stocking up on craft beer, indulging in some dip, wings, and sliders, and cheering for your team (go Broncos!), there is still plenty to do. Read More...

  • Weekend Beer Events 1/26

    Beer Events - January 24, 2013

Whatever you do, make it beer-related and have a good time.

  • Weekend Beer Events 1/19

    Beer Events - January 17, 2013

As everyone gets into the groove of 2013, beer events are popping up all over the place. From Kalamazoo to Cambridge, we've got beer-related fun for you this weekend. Whether it's health, history, or food, we like to see what interests people pair with their beer drinking.

This weekend we have the conclusion of a beer week, a 7th anniversary celebration, a beer festival with a pretty fantastic mascot, and much more.

  • Weekend Beer Events 1/12

    Beer Events - January 10, 2013

From trying newly released beers in North Carolina to giving your opinion on which IPA should be on tap at a Williamsburg bar, this weekend has plenty of great beer drinking opportunities. Beer paired with good company and music (as it should be) is in no short supply--this should set the tone for a wonderful beer-filled weekend.

Alaska is starting the year off right with Alaska Beer Week, so follow their lead check out some great beer events that are happening all over the country this weekend.

  • Weekend Beer Events 1/5

    Beer Events - January 3, 2013

Where you spend the first weekend of 2013 drinking will set the tone for the rest of the year--so choose wisely!

We've put together a list of beer events this weekend featuring brewery bus tours in Connecticut and California, tap take overs from Lagunitas and Founder's, and even a Feast of the Epiphany featuring gift and king themed beers paired with Puerto Rican food. So wherever you decide to drink this weekend, make sure you are sharing a few pints and good times with friends to get you in the right drinking mood for the rest of the year.

  • Weekend Beer Events 12/29

    Beer Events - December 27, 2012

Whatever you do on New Year's Eve, it's likely to involve beer. We've found you some great places to drink and ring in the new year this weekend. Ending the year at the home of the first pilsner, or the site of a new brewery, you're sure to be aware of both the great things that happened the past year and the hopes you have for 2013.

Take the weekend to relax, and reflect, then end the year in a way you won't forget. Drink. Dance. Run. Travel. Do what makes you happy, because you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone. Happy New Year, beer lovers.

  • Weekend Beer Events 12/22

    Beer Events - December 20, 2012

Christmas is only a few days away, but that doesn't mean you can take these last few days to escape tree-decorating and cookie-making to enjoy some beers! Beyond the presents and the stress, the holidays are about spending time with the people you care about, so go taste some beers, bring home a souvenir six-pack and enjoy it while watching a Christmas classic.

If you don't have all your holiday shopping done, we will be stationed at the Union Square Holiday Market until 4pm on the 24th, so you can pick up a beer making kit for that beer lover in your life.

  • Weekend Beer Events 12/15

    Beer Events - December 13, 2012

Just like the holiday spirit, beer events are spread across the globe this weekend. East to west and overseas, there is something to warm up everyone. Whether going to the taproom with your buddies, or heading to the beer festival with your beer-enthusiast uncle, it will be nice to take a moment to sit back and relax in between shopping for presents and preparing the house for guests.

Italian beers will be displayed for the first annual Grande Esposizione Italiane della Birra, while Essen, Belgium will be hosting the Kerstbierfestival, in its 18th year. The holidays are filled with traditions, so start a new one with friends or family--board a bus, donate a toy, drink a stout--you can't go wrong.

  • Weekend Beer Events 12/8

    Beer Events - December 6, 2012

Beer FlightTis the season to be charitable - several of our beer events this weekend give a portion of ticket sales to charity and others are accepting donations of food or toys at the door, encouraging you to do some good deeds while drinking.

And don't forget about the Union Square Holiday Market - open every weekend until Christmas! We have plenty of Beer Making Kits, Mixes, T-shirts, and Coaster Opener sets for sale, so stop by and we will help you give the gift of beer this holiday season.

  • Weekend Beer Events 12/1

    Beer Events - November 29, 2012

To ring in December, we have beer festivals celebrating holiday ales, a rock and roll beer festival, another festival honoring only dark beers--perfect for warming you up in the winter, and last but not least, a day celebrating the release of a super rare, super delicious lambic from Bruxelles.

Also if you are in New York City, be sure to check out our booth at the Union Square Holiday Market! We are there every day of the week, helping people give the gift of beer this holiday season.

  • Weekend Beer Events 11/24

    Beer Events - November 22, 2012

While those of us in the United States eat and drink heavily today and need this weekend to recover, there are beer events going on all around the world that deserve our attention. From South Africa to Ireland, this weekend holds plenty of beer drinking opportunities.

There is one beer festival on our radar in the good ol' U.S. of A, too. But for the most part Americans are going to need to get their beer drinking done in a more conventional manner this weekend. Generally that means in a recliner while watching a football game.

  • Weekend Beer Events 11/17

    Beer Events - November 15, 2012

What better way to gear up for your Thanksgiving food binge than to attend a beer festival this weekend? If you're looking for more than just delectable dishes paired with amazing beer, these events provide other entertainment, from seminars to car shows.

As the temperature drops, we'd like to raise our glass to new releases like Pelican Pub's Mother of All Storms, and celebrate long-standing festivals like the Great Brews Classic Beer Festival. If you find yourself sticking around the city this weekend, stop by the Union Square Holiday Market for its opening weekend and visit our booth to pick up a Beer Making Kit or Mix! And if you can't make it this weekend, we will be there until closing day on Christmas Eve, so you'll have plenty of time

  • Weekend Beer Events 11/10

    Beer Events - November 8, 2012

Our weekly whirlwind tour of the world in beer takes us from big beer festivals in Florida and Pennsylvania to a craft beer silent auction in Seattle, another chance to drink for charity in Massachusetts, and a citywide pub crawl in Georgia that isn't a horrible tourist trap.

So take advantage of these last few free weekends before the family filled craze of Thanksgiving arrives, because after that fourth Thursday of November you'll be tossed into a hopeless vortex of wholesome holiday fun that won't let you go 'til New Years, and who knows when you'll have time for beer again.

  • Weekend Beer Events 11/3

    Beer Events - November 1, 2012

This weekend's beer events range from a celebration of suds from a single state (Colorado) to a beer festival held under the lights on a baseball diamond. Some offer live music and good food alongside delicious craft brews, others offer beer education classes, but all offer a guaranteed good time.

There are even a few events this weekend with proceeds going to different nonprofit groups like the Palmetto Animal League in South Carolina and the Empty Stocking Fund in Colorado, so you can rest easy knowing that you are drinking for some good causes.

  • Weekend Beer Events 10/27

    Beer Events - October 25, 2012

The end of October is a time for mourning in the beer world, as we say goodbye to the parade of Oktoberfest tributes and the bell begins to toll for our rotting Halloween pumpkins.

But we've got one last weekend to celebrate what might be beer's best month, so we're planning to see it out in style. We have all kinds of pumpkin loving for you in Cambridge, a beer geek's dream afternoon in Portland, and a homebrewing pilgrimage to Omaha.

  • Weekend Beer Events 10/20

    Beer Events - October 18, 2012

If ever there was a time to take that beer-themed road trip you've been dreaming of, this is it. Three major cities are kicking off their beer weeks in unison this weekend, and with each one hosting hundreds of events, you better hire yourself a chauffeur. Or a pilot.

Start your trip in Baltimore, and sleep off your indulgences on the overnight drive down I-85 to Atlanta. Then hop/skip/jump across the Gulf Coast to Austin, by which point we'll understand if can't bring yourself to touch another beer.

  • Weekend Beer Events 10/13

    Beer Events - October 11, 2012

We know there's a pretty big beer event happening in Denver this weekend, but unless you are really quick with a mouse and got your tickets months ago before they sold out in 8 hours, you aren't going to be at the Great American Beer Festival. So instead, we have some other beer sampling options to share with you.

But beer isn't the only reason to check out these events. We have one that benefits a children's hospital in Washington, one that has a beer belly competition, and even one that also has wine and is totally free! So take your mind off of all that you are missing at GABF and enjoy yourself at one of these other fine events happening this weekend.

  • Weekend Beer Events 10/6

    Beer Events - October 4, 2012

There is enough beer flowing at festivals this weekend to keep you drinking all year long. What's more, all of the events we are presenting to you this weekend raise money for charity. Drinking for a cause is our favorite win-win situation.

For those of you sticking around the city this weekend, we'll be at the Village Voice's Brooklyn Pour being held at Skylight One Hanson in Fort Greene. We will be giving a how to brew demonstration during Session Two and pouring some new beers for the Fall. Come by and say hello!

  • Weekend Beer Events 9/29

    Beer Events - September 27, 2012

Fall brings with it beautiful changes in the color of leaves and bigger, bolder beers to keep you warm as the weather cools. There are many choices of where to drink a beer this weekend, and these festivals may be some of the best.

Whether you hit Vermont's SIPtemberfest or Florida's Craftoberfest, you may get home and not know what month it is. If you're down in the Big Easy, New Orleans on Tap is there to get you some beer and help out the Louisiana SPCA.

  • Weekend Beer Events 9/22

    Beer Events - September 20, 2012

Every weekend seems to bring us something new and exciting when it comes to beer events, and this weekend will do nothing to change that trend. Whether you want something you can take home, or if you just want to drink something local, we have an event for you.

Unforgettable experiences await those who head to the New York State Craft Beer Experience or the CoHops Beer Fest, or any of the other events on our list. Each of this week's event offers something a little different compared to your average beer festival.

  • Weekend Beer Events 9/15

    Beer Events - September 13, 2012

Colorado, Georgia, Missouri, California, and New York all have great beer events this weekend. We're sure other states do too, but we don't have enough blog space to cover all of them. We have to draw the line somewhere.

There seems to be a furry creature theme this weekend as the Ballpark Brew Bash features a buffalo motif and the California Beer Festival has a keg lifting bear as a mascot. Wild animals aside, there is a whole lot of beer to drink this weekend, so get to it.

  • Weekend Beer Events 9/8

    Beer Events - September 6, 2012

Last week was the unofficial end of summer, and we hope it's starting to cool off where you live. The coming fall means nicer weather for much of the country, and we suggest you take advantage of that by enjoying some great brews at one of the events happening this weekend.

Take the whole family out to Oregon Brews & BBQs, or, if you need a little time away from the kids, head to any of the other events around the country that won't let them in. Either way, there are philanthropic drinking opportunities abound with chances to support fire fighters, the Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

  • Weekend Beer Events 9/1

    Beer Events - August 30, 2012

With Labor Day upon us, your summer of beer is (alas) coming to a close. But before you can turn in your title of High Priestess of Hops, Ambassador of Ales, Prince of Pilsner, Matriarch of Malt, Bard of Brew, Sultan of Suds or, you know, anything else you can think of - here are a few long weekend events (both at home and abroad) to complete your core requirements.

And for you New Yorkers who haven't been yet, The New York Historical Society's fantastic exhibition, Beer Here: Brewing New York's History closes on Sunday, so this is your last chance!

  • Weekend Beer Events 8/25

    Beer Events - August 23, 2012

This weekend should be a great one for a few beers. Whether you are a more active beer drinker, or a more studious one, we've found an event for you.

For bike riders, there's the 5-day-long Vermont Bike and Brewery Challenge. But if you're more into learning about the beer industry while you sit around and enjoy a beer, then Beer-Con in San Diego is probably where you should be this weekend.

  • Weekend Beer Events 8/18

    Beer Events - August 16, 2012

Beer FlightThis weekend we've got beer and food fests, a microbrew competition that rewards budding brewmasters with a trophy the size of a small child, and Stone Brewing throws itself a 16th Anniversary party.

Beer, smoked meats, and blues combine their awesome powers at the Smokin' Blues and Brews Fest in Lancaster, PA, promising a delicious day of beer and BBQ.  The Saratoga Steinley Cup is also up for grabs this weekend, so if you find yourself in Wyoming, we suggest you head to Kathy Glode Park and vote for your favorite microbrew. The winner takes home one of the most magnificent trophies we've ever seen. And yes, of course the trophy doubles as a giant beer mug.

  • Weekend Beer Events 8/11

    Beer Events - August 9, 2012

Beer FoamIt's still hot out there. Time to cool down with some beer. If you haven't quite finished brewing your own batch, there are some serious drinking opportunities available all across the country.

Whether it's a rock and roll laced extravaganza at the Rock Hops Craft Beer Festival in Trenton, New Jersey, or a beer-centric fest in a giant parking lot for the Twin Cities Beer Fest, or even more beer and tunes at Microfestivus in Virginia's Elmwood Park, this weekend has a lot to offer to fans of foamy goodness.

  • Weekend Beer Events 8/4

    Beer Events - August 2, 2012

Summer is the time to be outside. But more importantly, summer is the time to drink outside. We'll be headed upstate to camp out at Ommegang's Belgium Comes to Cooperstown. If you're on the west coast, what better place to spend your outdoor drinking time than against the beautiful mountain back drop of Mammoth Lakes, CA, listening to some great tunes at Bluesapalooza?

For the more adventurous (and the gluttons for punishment), head on up to Burlington this weekend for the Vermont Bicycle & Brewery Tour. Afterwards, be sure to treat yourself to one of these Post-Biking Brews. Go ahead, you've earned it.

  • Weekend Beer Events 7/28

    Beer Events - July 26, 2012

Edible's Good Beer is back Tuesday July 31st and we'll be happily pouring our Jalapeño Saison alongside some of our favorite NY breweries and eateries. But Tuesday is a whole weekend (of drinking) away.

We're envious of our PDX Beer Geek friends most of the year - but this is especially true when the Oregon Brewer's Festival takes over the banks of the Willamette for 4 days of beer drinking glory. If you don't find yourself in the shadow of Mt. Hood here are our picks across the country:

  • Weekend Beer Events 7/21

    Beer Events - July 19, 2012

We're heading up to Massachusetts this weekend to show our support (and legs) at the Christmas in July 5K (and hopefully burn some beer calories in the process).

And while we will be taking it easy pre-race we'll be happily indulging in Massachusetts beer post - we've even read it's good for you.

So this weekend we suggest running first and then heading to one of these great beer events:

  • Weekend Beer Events 7/14

    Beer Events - July 12, 2012

While we'll be staying local and biking over to Greenpoint for Brouwerij Lane's Sour Summer Sampler this weekend - there are a slew of beer events around the country that justify getting on a speedier form of transportation.

We're talking about the 175+ summertime brews at Beertopia's Sunfest, Lake Superior Lodge, Philly Saison Brunch and every brewery in Maine (and a few lobster rolls) calling our names.

  • Weekend Beer Events 7/7

    Beer Events - July 5, 2012

A mid-week 4th of July begs a whole week of celebration and our weekend beer event picks are no exception. From the 3-day Seattle International Beerfest to sours, brewery birthdays and BBQ and craft beer filled ballgames your weekend cup is bound to be full.

And if a five day celebration has you craving a quiet read check out Monday night's The Brooklyn Flea Comes to Greenlight for a discussion on beer, books, pops and plants (and perhaps just a little Jalapeno Saison in your cup).

  • Weekend Beer Events 6/15

    Beer Events - June 15, 2012

With Father's Day this weekend, you have your work cut out for you: teach your dad how to make beer, make a batch of our World's Greatest Dad Light (the recipe's in the book), and most importantly, drink some Father's-Day-appropriate beer with your dad.

When you're not busy doing all of those things, however, stretch your legs and get out to one of the great beer events in your town. And bring Dad along!

  • Weekend Beer Events 6/7

    Beer Events - June 7, 2012

Tomorrow we're headed to DC (the 1st of two trips this June) for our first time at SAVOR, a food and craft beer festival organized by the Brewers Association.

Let us know if you'll be there (or which breweries we should be sure not to miss). And of course, don't miss out on the fantastic beer events in your town.

  • Weekend Beer Events 5/31

    Beer Events - May 31, 2012

This weekend we're heading up to Boston for another year at the American Craft Beer Fest. We'll be tag teaming in our goal to try any beer of the 550+ that we haven't had yet (and making some new friends along the way). If you've got your ticket (we'll be at the Saturday afternoon session) - let us know and hopefully we'll see you there. Or if you won't be with us in Boston, check out these beer events in Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and New Jersey, complete with history lessons, tours, and horse races.

  • Weekend Beer Events 5/24

    Beer Events - May 24, 2012

With the three-day weekend ahead, you have a lot of beer-drinking to look forward to. Whether you have plans to brew your next batch, host a Memorial Day barbecue, or go on a weekend getaway, don't miss the great beer events going on around the country.

Our picks for the weekend include blues, zoos, cruises, and of course, plenty of samples of brews. So get out there, try some new beers, and enjoy the fine weather. And don't forget to pick up a good supply of Memorial Day beers for a long, leisurely Monday by the grill.

  • Weekend Beer Events 5/16

    Beer Events - May 16, 2012

This weekend, American Craft Beer Week wraps up with hundreds of events in breweries and bars across the country. The week has been filled with competitions, tastings, and tours, but there are still a few more days left to get in on the fun.

Although we're in Brooklyn, we hand-picked a few of our favorite weekend ACBW events from around the country, for our friends in Delaware, Florida, California, and Indiana. What's happening at your local bar this weekend?

  • Weekend Beer Events 5/10

    Beer Events - May 10, 2012

This weekend, when you're not buying last-minute Mother's Day gifts, stroll out to some of the beer tastings, festivals, and parties in your city. If you're in Long Island or Denver, you're lucky enough to have a full week of beer-themed events ahead of you.

And if you're in Northern New Jersey, we'll be hosting a brewing demo in Chef Central's beautiful kitchen in Paramus (Saturday, May 12). Come by, learn how to make beer, and pick something up for mom all under the same roof.
