6 Chilled Beer-Filled Desserts for Summer

Updated on March 22, 2015

We'll always take a cold beer on a hot summer day, and often that gets us thinking about how we might incorporate our own beer into something delicious, sweet and chilled. There's hardly anything better than an ice cold treat, especially if it's infused with beer!

If you're stumped about what to bring to your next (perhaps last, where did the summer go?!) cookout or just want to have an afternoon sweet from the freezer, here are six of our most refreshing recipes, whether you prefer chocolate or citrus. Our Grapefruit Honey Ale, Oatmeal Stout and more are great additions!

  1. Chocolate Maple Porter Fudge Pops

These beer-infused pops are deceptively simple - do you have beer? Check. Hot cocoa mix? Check. (That's it, really!) Refreshing and fudgey, they are perfect for a day at the beach or in the backyard.
  2.
  3. Shandy Ice Pops

A shandy in the best form possible - an ice pop! Ours brings together lemon tartness, the light essence of beer (in this case, our citrus-packed Grapefruit Honey Ale) and just a little water and sugar.
  4.
  5. Chocolate Maple Porter Ice Box Cake

Icebox cakes may seem old-fashioned - but we think they are the perfect base for a little beer experimentation. Since icebox cakes take on more flavor the longer the meld together, just blend a little Chocolate Maple Porter into whipped cream, layer on some chocolate wafer cookies, and you'll have a fluffy, beer-filled dessert with very little effort!
  6.
  7. Coffee Stout Tiramisu

Coffee aromas and tastes often have a place in beer and we thought it was a no-brainer to incorporate that flavor profile into tiramisu! Our Chocolate Maple Porter or Bourbon Dubbel are the perfect complement to this creamy dessert's marscapone cheese, egg whites and rum.
  8.
  9. Chocolate Maple Porter Pudding

The ultimate stay-at-home treat from childhood, pudding gets an upgrade with this adults-only version that uses our Chocolate Maple Porter (or other craft porter) as a base flavor. With ideal portions rounded out by bittersweet chocolate and maple syrup, you'll really impress your next dinner party guests!
  10.
  11. Coconut Maple Porter Ice Cream

Ice cream is synonymous with summer, and so is beer. We've combined the two in our Chocolate Maple Porter ice cream. Super tasty with hints of tropical coconut and a generous amount of porter, this ice cream is the best kind of sweet treat for a hot afternoon.
