Recipe:
Lambic Fruit Leather
Updated on March 23, 2016
This recipe will work best if you have access to some equipment. First you'll need a really good blender and a dehydrator, but if you don't have a fantastic blender, you can substitute apple sauce for the whole apple. And if you don't have a dehydrator, you can use your oven on a low temperature. No matter how you go about drying your fruit, we promise this lambic fruit leather will be delicious!
What You Need
- 1 apple, pealed and cored
- 1/2 pint raspberries
- 1 pint strawberries
- 1/4 cup lambic
What You Do
- Blend all ingredients in a super blender until pureed. If your blender is slightly less than super you can sub in 1/4 cup apple sauce for the apple and puree.
- If using a a dehydrator with fruit leather trays (the smooth plastic inserts) spray the trays with cooking spray, pour in pureed fruit and dehydrate at 135 degrees F for 6-8 hours. If using an oven, line a baking tray with a baking mat or parchment paper, pour in pureed fruit and bake on lowest oven setting (usually 150 degrees F for about 6 hours).
- Cut into strips with a pizza cutter or kitchen shears. Enjoy.
