Light, refreshing, a little spicy – the Michelada has long been a go-to for bright summer mornings or the late, hot afternoon. We love this beer cocktail for its cool, vegetal quality and for its simplicity. Originating in Mexico, and cousin to the more tame Chelada (an equally thirst-quenching concoction consisting of just beer, lime juice, and sea salt), the Michelada takes a great light beer to the next level with the addition of tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, and a bit of hot sauce. You can even swap out the tomato juice for Clamato juice (a mix of tomato and clam juice) to feel like you're right on the beach.
Our Grapefruit Honey Ale is a great base for this super- delicious cocktail – the bright, citrusy notes play well with the tomato and lime. If you like a little more kick, our Jalapeno Saison takes a Michelada to the next level!
We make all-grain beer brewing kits that make it easy to make beer at home. Whether it's your first batch or your hundredth.
